We want to recognize our Retirees

    Charlene Hood  of Lowell, Indiana has recently retired from the Tri Creek School Corporation

 

Jo Anne Furniss of Evansville, Indiana recently retired  after 23 years of service with the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation. Jo Anne began driving as a substitute in the fall of 1985 and later that year began driving full time on route N-80. The route served Scott Elementary School and St. James Catholic School.
 

Teddy Hodson of Shelbyville, Indiana retired after 8 years of driving for Shelby Eastern Schools.

 

Sharon Reuer of LaPorte, Indiana retired after 30 years of service to the LaPorte Community School Corporation. Sharon transported "Special Needs" students all 30 years of her career.
 
Orval Ungethum of Evansville, Indiana retired after 20 years of service to the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation. He began driving a school bus with Posey County and later began driving for the Evansville school system.
 
Marvin Hollerbach of Evansville, Indiana retired after 39 years of service to the Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corporation.  Marvin's wife Margaret and daughter Roxann Weyer also drive for the Evansville system. Marvin was a member of the Drivers Association all 39 years of his driving career.
 
Rose Hellmich of Greensburg, Indiana retired after 31  years of service to the Greensburg Community Schools system. Rose began her driving career by purchasing a school bus from her neighbor Wilma Eldridge who decided driving a school bus wasn't for her.
 
"Best Wishes and Congratulations"  to each of these drivers for helping to make the school bus the safest form of transportation and to each one please cherish the "Pleasant Memories" 

      Congratulations and Best Wishes to Ward Nelson who retired on May 24, 2007 and 60 ½ years!  Mr. Nelson drove for East Washington School Corporation located near Pekin, IN.  He started driving January 1, 1947 in a 1946 GMC that had black fenders and chrome grill with a 36 passenger Wayne Body.  Mr. Nelson has always been a contract driver and has always been awarded a route each time they were bid.  In the early days he was paid $11.00 per day for a 30 mile route.  He has bought 6 new school buses and 3 used ones over the years and is presently driving a 1999 International with a Thomas body.  Mr. Nelson has been a member of the Drivers Association for 40 years.  Again we would like to congratulate Mr. Nelson on a “Fantastic” career as a school bus driver for the state of Indiana.  If you would like to drop Mr. Nelson a note, here is his address:
