OBJECTIVE
To further the interest and objectives of its members through the Indiana
State Legislature. To provide services designed to meet the needs of its
members. The Association was organized in Hamilton County, December 29,
1937.
10 Things School Bus Drivers Wish Parents Would Teach their Children:
- No loud talking / screaming on the bus.
- Stay seated until the bus comes to full stop.
- Keep hands to yourself. No horseplay.
- No eating on the bus.
- Be on time to your bus stop.
- Cross in front of the bus.
- Do not stand in the aisles.
- Pay attention when loading/unloading the bus.
- Communicate with the driver.
- Be responsible . Follow the driver's directions.

LEGISLATIVE NEWS
H.B. 1203- This bill will affect privately owned
school buses in Indiana . The bill states: Requires that a school bus
not owned by a school corporation must be registered before July 29th of
each year. Provides that a license plate issued before March 1,2008 for
a school bus not owned by a school corporation may be displayed thru
July 29, 2009. The Drivers Association would like to " Thank"
Representative Phil Pflum for authoring this legislation and
Representative Tom Saunders, Senator Paul and Senator Skinner for their
co-sponsorship. If you have questions or concerns about this bill

2008 BUS RODEO
Robbie Morrow currently an executive board member,
placed 1st in the conventional division and 2nd over-all as and
individual in the recently held school bus rodeo. The rodeo was held
April 26,2008 at Franklin Township Schools, Indianapolis, Indiana .
Congratulations Robbie!!

Legislative
Support
The Association works tirelessly to uphold and advance the rights, standards,
and working conditions of its members. Also, it is the only statewide
voice that initiates legislation to promote laws in the best interest
of its members.
Accidental Death Or Dismemberment Insurance
The policy provides a benefit of $5,000 while under the age of 70. Over
70 years benefits are $2,500. This insurance is included in your $30 membership
dues to the Indiana State School Bus Drivers Association. This is only
for accidental death.
Newsletter
Published twice yearly to keep members well informed. Read
the current newsletter now.
Legal Fees
The Association will pay one-half of these fees, up to $500 (1/2=$250)
to an attorney of the member's choice for any problem involving the member
while fulfilling the duties of your school bus related occupation. Please
notify a Board Member if you seek advise of an attorney within 90 days
of the school bus related occurrence.
Remember, your association is a nonprofit organization. WE HELP ONE
ANOTHER. Tell other drivers about your association. We help several
drivers each year.
State School Bus Committee
The president of your Association is a member of this important committee,
which draws up the specifications for school buses, and other items concerning
school buses.
